Omobolanle Abibat Adesiyan
Popularly known as Qweenfecy
Omobolanle Abibat Adesiyan, popularly known as Qweenfecy, is a Nigerian-born fashion designer based in Ontario, Canada. A proud graduate of George Brown College, she is the creative mind behind the Afro-cultural fashion brand Qweenfecy Clothing.
Her journey in fashion officially began in 2019, after completing her studies in Fashion Techniques and Design at George Brown College. That same year, she made her debut at the college’s annual year-end fashion showcase, THREADS, where her bold and innovative designs first turned heads—marking the beginning of a remarkable career.
Since then, Qweenfecy Clothing has grown into a respected name in the Canadian fashion scene. In 2023, Omobolanle received the Award of Excellence from the Black Designers of Canada, founded by renowned fashion leader George Sully. In 2024, she was further recognized as the Women Designer of the Year at the BFBG Awards, solidifying her place as one of Canada’s most inspiring creative talents.
On October 25, 2025, she was honoured with the Canadian International Black Women Excellence Award, a prestigious recognition celebrating her continued contributions to fashion, culture and community empowerment.
Her brand celebrates Afrocentric identity, confidence and individuality—blending couture craftsmanship, ready-to-wear pieces, native attires and footwear creations. Each design reflects her artistic versatility and her passion for empowering individuals to express their authentic selves through fashion.
Beyond the runway, Qweenfecy’s influence extends deeply into her community. She is a public speaker, philanthropist and advocate for Black empowerment and youth development. Through her involvement with the Black Youth Initiative and her volunteer work with the FCJ Refugee Centre, she continues to mentor and inspire young creatives, facilitating workshops and sharing her journey to uplift the next generation.
Her dedication to art and advocacy has also earned her recognition beyond fashion. In 2020, she served as an Artist-in-Residence for Wellness Within, a Halifax-based organization focused on health and justice. In 2017, she performed at the Children’s Peace Theatre, using art to address social issues such as racism, injustice and colonization.
As she continues to rise, Qweenfecy remains open to collaborations, partnerships and sponsorships that support her mission to elevate Afro-fashion globally and expand her impact through creativity, culture and community empowerment.
